DECATUR — Mary Ann Reid, 85 of Granite City, IL, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL. Mary had been living at Imboden Creek Gardens Assisted Living in Decatur, IL, since April. She was born on June 11, 1927 in Diehlstadt, MO, a daughter to the late Terry and Lila (Norman) Bagwell.

Mary Ann was a member of Niedringhaus United Methodist Church in Granite City, IL. She graduated from Southeast Missouri State in 1949. On August 14, 1949, she married George "Lee" Reid Jr., the love of her life in Charleston, MO., and he preceded her in death on January 25, 2012. Mary Ann retired from Granite City School District as a 5th grade teacher after many years of service. She enjoyed gardening and was an avid photographer; her greatest joy was spending time with her family, whom she adored.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband and parents.

Mary Ann is survived by her three loving children, Terry (Ron) Grant of Decatur, IL, Deborah (Mark) Karr of Crestwood, MO and David Reid of Troy, IL; eight wonderful grandchildren, Ty Douglass, Ryan Reid, Matt Mansfield, Tony Douglass, Patrick Reid, Chris Douglass, Tyler Reid and Jivan Harbian; seven adoring great grandchildren, Logan Reid, Aly Douglass, Emma Douglass, Austin Harbian, Reid Douglass, James Douglass and Lola Douglass; one loving sister, Sue (Earl) Miller of Charleston, MO.

Visitation: Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2012, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Rd. Granite City, IL.

In celebration of her life, Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2012, at Irwin Chapel with Rev. Tim Pate officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Glen Carbon, IL.

The Reid family would like to thank the Imboden Creek Gardens Staff and the nursing staff of the cardiovascular unit at D.M.H. for the dignity and care they shown to our mother.

Memorial donations may be given to Niedringhaus United Methodist Church, Granite City, IL, and will be accepted at Irwin Chapel. irwinchapel.com.
