RALPH SAMPSON DIES AT ROCKSDALE MONDAY


Ralph Sampson, 61, died Monday evening at his home in Rocksdale.


Born in this county, he was the son of Will and Mary Kirby Sampson and was a member of the Walnut Grove Methodist Church.


He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma Craddock Sampson; six daughters, Mrs. Leavel Starcher of Leatherbark; Mrs. Alta Starcher of Spencer; Mrs. Bessie Nutter of St. Albans; Mrs. Delta Starcher, Mrs. Thelma Roach, and Miss. Nina Mae Sampson, all of Rocksdale. Five sons, Ernest of St. Albans, Cyrus of Slate, Holly of Parkersburg, Frank of Akron, Ohio, and Ralph Jr. in Rocksdale. Five brothers, Homer of Spencer, John of Grantsville, Ray of Altizer; Ira of Akron, Ohio, and Howard of Parkersburg and two sisters, Mrs. Stella Marsh of Akron, Ohio, and Mrs Vesta Buchanon and 27 grandchildren.


Funeral rites were conducted from the Stoney Point Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Wilkinson officiating, Thursday at 2 o'clock. Interment was in the Gibson Cemetery. The Hardman-Conrad Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
