Richard Michael York peacefully passed away on March 29, 2012 at The Yuma Regional Medical Center. He was surrounded by his wife and two daughters. Richard was born in Lancaster California on September 23, 1941. He served in the United States Navy and later became a planner and estimator of damaged aircraft for NADEP North Island in San Diego, California. After retiring from Civil Service, he and his family moved to Yuma, AZ in 1995. Richard was very active in the Volkswagen Enthusiasts of Yuma and helped raise donations for Amberly's Place. He is survived by his wife, Christina York, daughters Samantha York of League City, TX, Teri Alcala of San Diego, CA and his son, Richard York Jr. of Tucson, AZ Viewing and a celebratory gathering will be held on April 7, 2012 at Yuma Mortuary, 551 West 16th Street Yuma, AZ 85364 from 3:00 - 6:00pm. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation in Richard's name to The Humane Society of Yuma or Amberly's Place.
