Francis L. Amos was born Friday, June 13, 1941 in St. Lucia,West Indies. At an early age, Francis moved to New York where he met his future wife and widow, Claudia B. Dempsey in 1965. They married in 1967 and had a baby girl. On Friday, November 13, 1970, Francis met his fate at the hands of a man who was not too pleased with being beat up by a West Indian. At the time of his death, Francis had two daughters (the oldest back in St. Lucia). His widow was pregnant with his third daughter born a month after her father's death. he is buried in an unmarked grave. Family was too poor to pay for a marker.

Francis is survived by his wife, Claudia, daughters, Leona (in Vieux Fort, St. Lucia), Fanita (in Newark, New Jersy), and Frances (in Brooklyn, New York), 4 grandchildren, Robert, Shaieysha, Lucas, and Aaliyah, 3 siblings, Monroe, Anna and Marie, Mother-in-law, Beatrice, 4 brothers-in-law, 5 sisters-in-law, and a large host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
