ORRIE ETHEL SMITH (MRS. FRANK A.)

The message received from a Havre hospital last Friday night stating the passing of Mrs. Frank Smith was received with a shock by this community and in the Smith family neighborhood north of Hingham. Mrs. Smith was taken ill during the first week in July; and up to the last day or two, her sickness was not considered serious until advised by a doctor that she be removed at once to a hospital. She was taken as far as Hingham early Friday afternoon where, after a few hours of rest, and further medical advice, her journey to a Havre hospital was continued where an hour after arrival she died of internal hemorrhage.

Mrs. Frank Smith, nee Orrie Ethel Huestis, was born at Wessington, South Dakota, February 17, 1887, where at the age of 16, she was united in marriage to Frank A. Smith, to which union thirteen children were born of whom nine survive.: Lee, George, Howard, Floyd, Loula, Alice, Velma, Orrie, and Lucile.

The deceased came to Montana with her husband in 1910; and being a pioneer by nature as well as by circumstance, she shared with her family and neighbors the various experiences of the homestead days on the open plains 22 miles north of Hingham. She will be remembered as a considerate neighbor and an unselfish friend to a wide circle of acquaintances in that vicinity who are joined by the community of Hingham in extending heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved husband and family.

The deceased is survived by her husband and nine children, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Huestis, of this city, five sisters and four brothers.

The funeral services were conducted in the Hingham Woodmen Hall by Rev. M. Bickle, at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon and the remains were laid to rest in Union cemetery
