A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at Dayspring Fellowship in Eugene for Heather Michelle Charters Hernandez of Porter Ranch, Calif., formerly of Eugene, who died Aug. 4 at age 35. The family chose not to list the cause of death.

She was born Oct. 14, 1976, in Springfield to Richard and Ardeth Overholser Charters. She married Marc Hernandez on July 19, 1997, in Eugene.

She graduated from North Eugene High School in 1995. She graduated with a bachelor of science degree in fine and applied arts from the University of Oregon in 2000. She worked as a photographer, computer graphic designer and an artist as well as a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband; her parents, Ardie and Harold Clark of Eugene and Richard and Chloe Charters of Eugene; her grandparents, Donna and John Rackley of Roseburg; and a brother, Duane Charters of Eugene.

Burial will be at 3 p.m., Saturday at Fir Grove Cemetery in Cottage Grove. Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Remembrances to Greenhill Humane Society.
