OBITUARY:

Mrs. Anna Allen, whose passing is mourned, was born to Mr. and Mrs. John Witt of Bison, Kansas, April 15, 1886. Her homegoing came this past Wednesday afternoon at the Stafford District Hospital after a three month long illness. She lived to be 73 years, 9 months, and 21 days old. Her life was a full one and her days blessed.

Mrs. Allen married John Allen of Stafford June 20, 1916. Together they shared the blessings of a rich family life. Eight children were born to them, two dying in early childhood. Her husband preceded her in death June 1, 1957. Those who mourn of their mother now are Mrs. Laverne Fink, Wichita; Mrs. Adele Kail, Tribune; Mrs. Irene Calvird, Mrs. Valeta Roe, and Mrs. Elsie Pound, and Edgar all of Stafford. To these are added their families including 12 grandchildren. Three sisters also out live their sister. They are Mrs. Henry Hildebrand, Stafford; Mrs. George Fairbanks, Bison; and Mrs. Herman Fischer, Ellinwood. Many others including a host of relatives and friends also will miss her as one whose life often brought sunshine to others.

Mrs. Allen was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church. She had previously found her Savior's love sufficient while residing in Bison, and was there baptized on the confession of her faith. Here she has been active in the various branches of the Lord's work until the time came that such work needed to be relegated to younger powers.

The deceased had that rare commodity of being able always to think in the terms of the needs of others. Even the day prior to her passing she was concerned over the health and welfare of others. Always she sought to do her best according to her best understanding. We pray that the good influence exerted may radiate for many years to come in the lives of those on whom she influenced for good.

May the Masters words bring strength to all who mourn, "I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live; and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die."

The memorial service took place at Calvary Baptist Church, Saturday, February 13, 1960, at 2 p.m. The pastor Rev. Hans J. Wilcke brought the message and led in the service with the senior male quartet singing, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beyond the Sunset". Interment took place at the Stafford Cemetery.
