NOTE: The Hines Family can be traced back to the 1870 US Federal Census, Texas, Ellis County, Chambers Creek Post Office - FAMILY #471, determined to be from the Hines Plantation (1860) of 70 enslaved individuals in 11 slave houses owned by Thomas Hines and his son T.J. Hines who migrated to Texas from Tennessee.... In 1870, T.J. Hines was a farmer/minister and lived on property next to the Jacob Hines family
