Marian A. MacDonough, 85, of Marshalls Creek, died Friday afternoon, May 6, 2011 at the VNA Hospice House in East Stroudsburg. She was the widow of Richard C. MacDonough who died October 9, 2001.

Born March 8, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY she was the daughter of the late Henry B. Albrecht and the late Edla (Nelson) Albrecht Huffman and was the step-daughter of the late Norman Huffman. She was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.

Marian was a 1943 graduate of East Stroudsburg High School and a 1945 graduate of Centenary College in Hackettstown, NJ. She was Past President of The Junior Womens Club, a member of the Gourmet Club of the Stroudsburg and a member of the Marshalls Creek Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

Following the family tradition of being Marshalls Creek Postmaster she served in that capacity for over 25 years.

Survivors include two sons, Richard L. "Mac" MacDonough and his wife Sharon and David W. MacDonough and his wife Susan, all of Marshalls Creek; a daughter, Sally Daigneault and her husband Thomas of Holderness, NH; ten grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and a niece. She was preceded in death by a brother, H. Nelson "Sonny" Albrecht on October 26, 2000.
