Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, April 17, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home here for Mrs. Eva Bowen, 79, a native of Adair County, who died Friday, April 15, 1960, at the Hazelwood Sanitorium in Louisville after a long illness. She was a daughter of the late E. R. Murrah and Mrs. Kittie Wagoner Murrah, professed faith faith in Christ at an early age and was a member of the Christie Chapel Methodist Church. She united in marriage to Mr. D. J. Bowen in December, 1896, who preceded her in death on Sept. 20, 1953. She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Malcolm Cox and Mrs. Lynn Hunt, both of Campbellsville; Mrs. Welby Allen, Knightstown, Ind.; Mrs. F. L. Bault, Marseilles, Ill.; Mrs. L. C. Mills, Leitchfield; and Mrs. Willard Humphress, Louisville; three sons, Walter and C. L. Bowen, both of Campbellsville; and G. A. Bowen, California; one brother: J. A. Murrah, Campbellsville; one sister: Mrs. Ella Carpenter, Missouri; 26 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. Rev. E. L. Dixon conducted the service, assisted by Mr. Paul Bohrer, minister of the Campbellsville Christian Church and burial was in Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Omer Bohanon, Bernard Powell, Vernon Dooley, Jimmie Speer, Maurice Mings, and George Callison. ~The News-Journal, Thursday, April 21, 1960
