Harvey C. Stephens worked for many years as a blacksmith and welder for Georgia, Florida and Alabama Railway, later a part of the Seaboard Airline System. In the early 1950's, he purchased a Gulf Service Station in Bainbridge, but sold it when Masonic obligations demanded all his time. Mr. Stephens was very active for many years in Orion Lodge No. 8, Free and Accepted Masons and the allied bodies, serving as Master, High Priest, and other posts in all local orders. In 1956-57 he was Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Georgia, and both before and since that time he has served in other state offices. He is a Thirty-two and One-Half Degree Mason.
