Lisbon - Walter Allen Rice 42, of 1000 Kings Highland Drive, Columbus, was found dead at home Thursday following a brief illness.
He was born in Salem, April 20, 1943, a son of Walter E. Rice and Charlene Rowley Rice of Calcutta.
Mr. Rice moved from Lisbon to Columbus 24 years ago. He was employed as a computer programmer. He attended the Bethel United Presbyterian Church at Highlandtown. He was graduated from Lisbon High School (Class of 1961), where he was valedictorian of his class, and from Ohio State University. He was a member of the U.S. Marine Reserves.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sons, Bryan Rice and Curtis Rice of Columbus; and a sister, Arlene Jane Rice of Wintersville.
Services are to be held at the Eells-Leggett Funeral Home at 3 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Dr. Donald D. Clark of New Hope Evangelical Church at Mingo Junction.
Burial is to be in Bethel Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 - 9 Saturday.
