WINSTED - Anna M. Gayer, 98, formerly of Moore Avenue, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at Valerie Manor Health Care in Torrington, following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Edward Gayer who died in 1974. Born in Norfolk, Oct. 25, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Francesca (Tominaro) Nataro and had lived most of her life in Winsted. Prior to her retirement, she had worked at Gilbert Clock, Hickey Fur and retiring from Dano Electric after 25 years of service. She was a graduate of The Gilbert School, class of 1932, and a communicant of St. Joseph Church.
Her survivors include a son, Richard Gayer and his wife Marilyn of Torrington; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Anna was predeceased by four brothers, Antonio, Joseph, Salvatore, Michael, and three sisters, Mary, Grace and Margaret.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, 10:30 a.m. from the Maloney Funeral Home, 55 Walnut Street to St., Joseph Church for the funeral liturgy at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph new Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to Mass.
