He was born Feb. 1, 1940, in Newberg. He enjoyed fishing and camping in the outdoors.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; son, Gordon of Baker City; daughters, Janet Woodall of Donald and Lois Carlton of Baker City; stepson, Jeff Staples of Grants Pass; stepdaughter, Kathy LaFollett of Moscow, Idaho; brother, Mervin "Butch" Schaad; sisters, Lucille Barnum and Eldora "Dot" David; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Aug. 4 at Newberg Friends Cemetery.
