Marie was the fourth daughter of John Jackson and Nancy Pearl Emily (Dunn) Barham. She had four sisters and two brothers. On a Sunday morning in October of 1938, she married her beloved husband, Harold Jeff Baker. They were married right after Sunday School class and then attended the regular Sunday morning service. Her husband preceded her in death on April 20, 1998. She was also preceded in death by daughter, Haroline Baker on October 2, 1940; her parents; sisters, Oleta, Johnnie, Ruth and Faye; and her brother, Z.T. Barham.
Survivors include son, Harold Jeff Baker of Gilmore, TX; daughter and son-in-lawm Juana and Don Aylor of Prague; 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Barham of Oregon; and many cousins, nephews, nieces, and in-laws.
Most importantly, she is survived by the many children she led to Christ through her ministry. She was a pastor's wife. A job she cherished. She helped her husband through evangelism. They held many revivals together. She was a Sunday school teacher, children's church leader, Missionette leader, a Women's Ministries leader, a song leader, and a church camp leader. The most fun a child could have was attending Vacation Bible School with the Bakers. They loved children and they loved it when a child accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
"This little light of mine, I'm going to let it shine."
The Baker family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, August 15, 2012, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Parks Brothers Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at 10:00 AM, at the Assembly of God Church in Prague with Rev. Kevin Wehrli and Dr. David Baker officiating. Interment will be at 3:30 PM at Dixie Cemetery in Loco, Oklahoma.
