Jose A. Castaneda Muro, 77, of rural Tonica, passed away Tuesday morning, August 14, 2012 at his home.
Private funeral services will be held in his home in rural Tonica. Rev. Jules Adator, pastor of St. Mary's Church in Naplate will officiate. Private Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Wenona. Private visitation will be held in his home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mueller Funeral Home in Lostant.
Mr. Castaneda was born October 30, 1934 in Mexico to Santos and Elena (Muro) Castaneda. He married Cipriana Moru on September 22, 1968 in Mexico.
Mr. Castaneda was a member of St. Mary's Church in Naplate.
Survivors include his wife, Cipriana; four children, Maria (Agustin) Nieblas of Ottawa, Louis (Maricruz) Castaneda of Magnolia, Carlos (Ana) Castaneda of Grand Ridge and Alma (Eligio) Soria of Tonica; 13 grandchildren and three sisters, Iesus, Isaura and Josefina Castaneda all of Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Santos Castaneda and three sisters, Teresa, Abigail and Guadalupe Castaneda.
