She came to Kansas City when she was 12 years old, lived with her married sister, Addie McFall, so she could attend Westport High School. She married Earl Hankins on April 16, 1927 and they had 74 years together. He preceded her in death in 2001.
She and her husband establish the Earl Hankins Roofing Co. and served on the Altar Guild at the Cathedral for years.
She is survived by a niece, Jeanne Henley, Prairie Village, KS, and three great-nephews, Hoyt, Scott and Kevin McFall, and one great-niece, Ellen Eisen.
