Christopher Allen Barker, 26, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2012. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, August 16, at OakCrest Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 15 at OakCrest Funeral Home, Waco.

Chris was born in Waco, Texas, to Allen and Patty Barker. He graduated from Bruceville-Eddy High School in 2004 before receiving a Culinary Arts Degree from TSTC. He held a variety of jobs in the culinary industry; however his greatest desire was serving others which he always endeavored to fulfill. Chris lived in Bruceville-Eddy and filled his years with playing video games, paintballing, whipping up unique culinary dishes for friends and family to enjoy, supporting local bands, fishing, volunteering, reading history, spending time with his family, finding the perfect quotes, but most of all- putting a smile on everyone's face. Chris had a special place in his heart for Stormy Marie and Summer Ann Foley whom he fathered and loved as his own two children.

Chris was preceded in death by grandfather, Patrick "Pat" Sullivan.

He is survived by his parents, Allen and Patty Barker; grandmother, Claudette Barker; grandfather, Woody Barker; grandmother, Nancy Davis; sister, Bunnie (Barker) Light and husband, Ross; niece, Sky Light; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Chris also leaves behind a close network of friends.
