Joseph G. Curran age 92 of Compass Lake, passed away Saturday August 11, 2012 in the Signature Health Care At The Courtyard in Marianna. Joseph was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Leo Curran Sr.and Ethel (Crosby) Curran, both natives of England. He had been a resident of Compass Lake for the past 21 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II, a lifetime member of Post 27 American Legion in Madura Beach, Florida, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4256, Madura Beach ,a lifetime member of the American Vets Post 0794 in Chipley and was of Catholic faith. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by two brothers, Franklin and Leo Jr.; sisters, Mary Fish, Joanie Molehan, Bertie Sego and Agnes Dillow and his first wife, Mildred (Garner) Curran. Survivors include: his wife, Norma Curran of Compass Lake; one step-daughter, Sharon Sexton of Indianapolis; one step granddaughter Lisa Sexton and husband Don of Indianapolis; three step grandsons, Barry Sexton Jr. of Bloomington, Indiana, Brent Sexton of Indianapolis and Craig Sexton of Sonora, Kentucky. He is also survived by eight step grandchildren; one brother, James Curran of Kokomo, Indiana; two sisters, Teresa Edwards of Lebanon, Indiana, and Elizabeth Clade of Indianapolis; brother-in-laws, Pete Sego and wife Betty of Indianapolis, Bob Sego of Compass Lake, Bill Sego and wife Peggy of Bloomington and Dan Sego and wife Margaret of Shelbyville, Indiana and a sister-in-law, Wilma Sego of Bloomington. Memorialization will be by cremation and inurnment will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in St. Petersburg, Florida.
