Funeral director. Pierce Brothers Mortuary was established in 1902 by Fred Pierce and his brother William H. Pierce. Subsequently two other brothers and a brother-in-law became identified with the organization - the late Rev. C.C. Pierce and Dr. Clarence W. Pierce, who was treasurer, and the late Frank I. Wheat. After his passing, the firm grew to one of the largest mortuary chains in the U.S. with 21 locations.
