William Elmer (Gib) Gibson , age 87 of Maryville died Monday, November 8, 2004 at Colonial Hills Nursing Center. He was a member and Deacon at Dotson Memorial Baptist Church and served as Choir Director at Dotson Memorial Baptist Church and Laurel Bank Baptist Church. He was a retired farmer and served as Shop Foreman for the Blount County Highway Department for many years. Preceded in death by: son, Dr. Marvin Gibson ; parents, T.E. and Effie (Raper) Gibson . Survivors include: wife, Raychel Coulter Gibson ; son, Don and wife Sue Gibson of Maryville; daughter, Betty Ann Drinnen and husband Wayne Jr. of Maryville; daughter-in-law, Jane Gibson Church and husband Gary of Greensboro, NC; sister, Beulah Mae Harris of Maryville; grandchildren, Lisa Gibson, Dr. Lynn Gibson and wife Angelia, Laura Gibson Williams and husband Adam, Leslie Gibson Phillips and husband Luke, Leann Drinnen, Jason Drinnen; great-grandchildren, Andrew Goodman, Will and Owen Gibson , and Hailey Grace Williams. Funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 9, 2004 in the West Chapel of Smith Mortuary with eulogy and remarks by Dr. Lynn Gibson and Rev. John Coates officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 10, 2004 at Grandview Mausoleum for the entombment with Dr. Charles Bailey officiating the committal service. Friends may call at their convenience after 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at Smith Mortuary.
