Alice Jean Witt, 86, Greenwood, passed Sunday Aug. 12, 2012 surrounded by her family. Born March 15, 1926 in Henry County. She was a member Saints Francis and Clare Catholic Church and Our Lady of Greenwood, Order of the Eastern Star, American Legion and VFW Auxillary. Jean worked at LS Ayres, Sears and The Fashion Shop.
Survivors include her husband of 36 years, James R. "Bob" Witt; children: Sue (Don) Richwine, Sandra Searles, Debbie (Larry) Boyce, James Witt II, Teresa (Dennis) Beaman, Michelle (Mike) Davidson, Sharon (Gary) Fletcher, Timothy (Denise) Witt, and Jeanne (Bob) Heere; Sister of Jack C. Garriott;19 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 4-8:00 pm Tuesday, Aug. 14 at G. H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch, with Rosary at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am Wednesday, Aug 15 at Saints Francis and Clare Catholic Church with burial at Southmound Cemetery in New Castle.
