He was employed as a supervisor at the Norfolk Naval Air Station, and made his home at 202 Sedgefield Drive, Greenhill Farms.
A native of Boston, Mass., and a resident of Norfolk for 14 years, he was a son of the late John and Mrs. Mary Sullivan Galvin.
Although boxing was his main love, he also played baseball. He refereed boxing events in the Tidewater area.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Hosie Spell Galvin; two daughters, Mrs. C. F. Duke and Mrs. Milburn E. Edwards, and two sons, Harry H. Bryan and William B. Bryan, all of Norfolk; one sister, Mrs. James Kiley of Boston; two brothers, Daniel P. Galvin and Timothy Galvin, both of Boston, and three grandchildren.
The body was removed to the Derry-Twiford Funeral Home.
