J. PIERCE COLEMAN
J. Pierce Coleman, 68, died Friday
at the Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital
of Cooperstown where he had
been a patient about three weeks.
He was born June o, 1888, in
Cooperstown, a son of John and Ida
(Pierce) Coleman. He married Fanny
Judson, October 27, 1908. She
died April 26, 1954.
A retired carpenter and feed mill
owner, he was a lifelong resident of
Cooperstown.
Surviving is a brother Dewitt
Coleman of Albany; and several
nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held at
3:30 p. m. Sunday at the Tillapaugh
Funeral Home, Cooperstown, the
Rev. Theodore L. Conklin, of the
State Council of Churches, officiating,
assisted by the Rev. Kenneth
E. Hardy, pastor of First Baptist
Church. Burial will be later this
vear in Hartwick Seminary Cemetery.
