DRAWYER, LUCIA E.--Interred at Geneva – The remains of the late Mrs. Lucia E. Drawyer, who died at Long Beach, Cal., Saturday, April 25, reached Geneva on the Burlington freight Saturday morning in charge of Miss Cora Drawyer, Mr. and Mrs. Smith of Yates City, Ill., and Mr. and Mrs. McCue of Osceola, Ia. Mrs. Smith and Mrs. McCue are daughters of Mrs. Drawyer's late husband.
The remains were taken to the Methodist church, where they rested until 3 p. m., when a short funeral service was conducted by Rev. E. M. Evans. The remains were interred in the Geneva cemetery.
The whole party remained here until Tuesday morning, when they departed for their homes. Miss Cora Drawyer packed her household effects and accompanied them. She will make her home at Osceola, Ia. During their stay here Mr. and Mrs. McCue and Miss Drawyer were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Curtiss. Mr. and Mrs. Smith were the guests of Dr. and Mrs. Pendell, who formerly resided at Yates City. Before the relatives departed they filed an application in the probate court for the appointment of A. D. Curtiss as administrator of Mrs. Drawyer's estate which consists of a residence in Geneva and an eighty acre farm south of the poor farm in Stanton township. (Nebraska Signal 15 MAY 1903 pg. 3)

The Late Mrs. Drawyer – Mrs. Lucia E. Drawyer was born in 1838 at Jericho, Vt., and was the youngest of four children, of whom Mrs. Prouty is the sole survivor. In the latter part of the fifties she was married to Henry Wilson, of New York state. Mr. Wilson was a volunteer in the civil war and while on his way to the front was taken with typhoid fever at Washington and died. Of this union two children were born, one dying in childhood and the other is Mrs. Etta McCue of Osceola, Ia. Soon after the close of the war Mrs. Wilson and little family came to Illinois and made their home with Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Prouty, who at the time resided several miles southeast of Bradford. Here she was married to Daniel Drawyer soon afterward. Miss Cora is a daughter of this union. – Bradford, Ill., Republican. Mrs. Drawyer died at Long Beach, Cal., Saturday, April 25.
