Ann Eliza Onderdonk was born on 23 May 1811 in Rockland County, New York to parents Abraham Onderdonk 1778-1857 and Maria Yeury 1782-1851. She was baptized at the Kakiat Dutch Reformed Church. This church is now called the Brick Church and is located in Spring Valley, Rockland, New York.
On 13 December 1834 she married Thomas Brickell.
