The following is James W. Brison's obituary:

July 28, 1899
"James W. Brison died at his home in Ora (Starke Co., IN) Wednesday at the advanced age of seventy-five years. He had been in feeble health for some time. His aged wife,(Hannah Mechling Brison) sons, Ed. and Alf., and two daughters, Mrs. Jacob Mohler (Hannah Melvina Brison) and Mrs Chas. Siegel, (Martha A. Brison)are left to mourn his departure. The funeral was held from the Kostar (Koster) church in Jefferson township (Pulaski Co., IN) Thursday by Rev. Fields and interment was made in the cemetery near by. The deceased was formerly a resident of Jefferson township and went to Gas City (Grant Co., IN) about three years ago where he embarked in the grocery business with his son Ed...."
