Donald (Celtic) "world mighty". He was known as Don or Donnie.

According to his birth certificate, he was born in Mershon, MI which no longer exists. Mershon, Saginaw County, village in Carrollton Township named for William B. Mershon who built a sawmill there in 1871. The Pere Marquette Railroad came through in 1871 and gave it a station, located a mile south of Saginaw, it has since been absorbed by the city.

From the Church book held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church (which has been lost) Donald Otto Wedding born to William and Frieda Heidenreich Wedding on August 17, 1926 was baptized Oct. 8, 1926 at home by Rev. A Ziele. His sponsors were Mrs Trac y Bissonette and Mrs Ingrid Brubaker.

He was confrimed April 6, 1941 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Saginaw, MI. by Rev. Ziele.

He quite school in the 9th grade and started working for Wickes Boiler Company. He was a welder most of his life. Remember Don's father was working at the age of 14 in a shingle mill. It was not likely that someone from this type of background would go to college. He could read and write and knew math so why continue with school when you could earn a living and make money. He was a smart man for only having a 9th grade education. He could read blueprints and build to specifications. He made playground equipment for his children, a swing set, monkey bars, and a merry-go-round which he welded in his free time.

He enjoyed fishing.

Donald had a surprise 30th anniversary party for his wife with the help of his 3 daughters, Norma, Rhea and Sue.
