Ralph Martin Semph, age 93, of the Town of Sheboygan, died Wednesday, August 8, 2012.

Ralph was born December 20, 1918 in rural Kiel to Arwin and Vera (Jaschob) Semph. He attended Washington Elementary School in Ada and the College of Agriculture in Madison. He then served his country in the US Air Force for four years. On January 13, 1945 Ralph and Rosemary Zeitler were united in marriage at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. For a number of years they were the proprietors of the grocery store in Ada. Later Ralph worked in maintainance at Hayssen Manufacturing, retiring in 1983.

Ralph took great pride in the horses he owned and won many trophies in their various competitions.

Ralph was a faithful, active member of Our Shepherd United Church of Christ in Howards Grove. He also was a member of the American Legion.

Ralph was a kind, sweet gentleman who was extremely talented. He could fix or build nearly everything and generously helped others his whole life.

In addition to his wife, Rosie, he is survived by his daughter, Julie (Dan) Winkel of Plymouth; his daughter-in-law, Jan (Dan) Warnke of Fond du Lac; grandchildren, Jesse (girlfriend, Jessica) Semph of Sheboygan, Taylor Semph of Plymouth, Nicole (boyfriend, Larry) Gehrman of Minneapolis, MN, Chrissy (Phil) Bauer of Marshfield, Joshua Wright of Two Rivers, Daniel Winkel of Plymouth; great-grandchildren, Michaela, Hannah, Kyan, and Beau of Marshfield, WI; a brother-in-law, Dan (Jeanette) Boedeker of Sheboygan Falls; and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his daughter, Patti and his son, Dan.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Our Shepherd United Church of Christ, 710 Ethan Allen Drive, Howards Grove, WI 53083. Rev. Ernest Huntzinger, Pastor, will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held at the church from 12 noon until the time of service. Burial with full military honors will follow at Schwarzwald Cemetery, Town of Herman
