George Washington Perkins was the 2nd son, and 5th born, out of 7, to Barnabas "Barney" and Elizabeth Bright Perkins.
He also had 5 half siblings from his Father's 2nd wife, Margaret Yount.

George married Nancy Bondurant Clark on Sept. 10th, 1844, in Shelby Co., KY. They had 10 children.

Inscription

"Tis sweet to gaze upon the sod,/That wraps thy mouldering clay/To think thy spirit rests with God,/Who called it hence away." The name George W. is arched and above it is a sculpture of two hands clasping. SBT the name Perkins. The break has been repaired and the stone is now standing. FM initialed G.W.P.
