William Henry "Bill" Fischbeck, 78, of Moberly, formerly of Fulton, MO died Wednesday, July 13, 2005, at the North Village Park Care Center in Moberly. He was born on May 2, 1927, in Farmington, MO to the late Eberhardt Jacob and Lillie Louise (Blanton) Fischbeck. On August 12, 1951, he married Velma Elizabeth (Henthorne) in Moberly and she survives.
Survivors include two sons, Blake Fischbeck of Moberly and Mark Fischbeck of Arizona; two daughters, Susan Maddock of Fulton and Jain Smith of Kansas; seven grandchildren, Ben, Halley and Hannah Fischbeck, Erik Burks, Max Maddock, Mackenzie and Chelsea Smith; and a sister, Flow Horton of Georgia.
Mr. Fischbeck served in the Merchant Marines during World War II and then joined the Missouri State Highway Patrol in 1949, worked mainly in the Troop F area. He served in the Army during the Korean conflict from 1951 to 1953, returning to the Highway Patrol until retirement.
Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton with Reverend James M. Shemwell officiating with Missouri Highway Patrol Honors. Burial is in Callaway Memorial Gardens with Veteran Honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2657. Visitation is from 1 p.m. until the time of services Saturday at the funeral home.
