First Lt. Bernard L. Foley, USAAF, reported Missing in Action on March 29, 1944 while on bombing mission in New Guinea. Received the Silver Star, Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Purple Heart and WWII Victory Medal.

Lt. Foley was raised by his stepmother, Emma Laden Foley, from infancy.
