J.C. Akers, 86, of Hodgenville, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. He attended Full Gospel Assembly in Hodgenville and was a retired farmer and carpenter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Christine Haynes Akers; a son, Albert Ray Akers; his parents, Lawrence Ray and Stella Pearl Acree Akers; and a brother, Chester C. Akers. Survivors include a daughter, Stella Christine Underwood and her husband, Shelby, of Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews.The funeral is at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville, with the Revs. Richard Binkley and Trent Evans officiating. Burial will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery in Buffalo.

J.C. Akers, of Hodgenville, son of the late Lawrence Ray and Stella Pearl Acree Akers, departed this life Satur­day, Nov. 25, 2006, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. He was 86 years of age. He attended Full Gospel Assembly in Hodgenville and was a retired farmer and carpenter. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Christine Haynes Akers; a son, Albert Ray Akers, and a brother, Chester C. Akers. He is survived by a daughter, Stella Christine and her husband, Shelby Underwood of Greensburg, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral services for Akers were held Nov. 28 at the Bennett-Bertram Fu­neral Home in Hodgenville with Rev. Richard Binkley and Rev. Trent Evans offi­ciating. Burial followed in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Buffalo.
