Ted was born February 10, 1925, on the Deen Farm south of Wills Point to John Egbert Deen and Duron Turner Deen. After graduating from Wills Point High School, he joined the U.S. Army during World War II and served in the Philippines and Japan. Upon returning home, he married Dorothy Ruth Jamieson on February 14, 1947. Ted entered into the tractor and farm equipment business with his father and brother Jack, operating as J E Deen and Sons. In 1959, he purchased full ownership of the dealership and renamed it Deen Implement Co. Ted retired from the business in 1990. He also was a cattle rancher, horse and donkey and mule lover, and was the caring steward of his place affectionately called “the farm.” Ted was a founding member of the Wills Point Riding and Roping Club and MacBee Water Supply Corp. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Wills Point Antique Tractor Club. He was a faithful member of Russell Memorial United Methodist Church, where he served in various capacities including Board Chairman and his most cherished position of official greeter. Ted had a great sense of humor and was a friend to many, young and old.

Preceded in death by his parents, John and Duron Deen; wife, Dorothy Ruth Jamieson “Dot” Deen; sister, Thelma Lee Deen Hanson; brothers, Roy Dewitt Deen, William Clyde “Billy” Deen and Jack Egbert Deen.
