DRIVER DIES BENEATH OWN AUTO
Paragonah, Iron County - A 22 year old Paragonah man was killed, apparently instantly, early Sunday when his auto went out of control on U.S. 91 near the south city limit and crushed him as it rolled over.
Vergene T. Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Jones, died in the 12:14 a.m. accident, according to Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Gordon Farnsworth.
The trooper said the north-bound auto apparently failed to negotiate a curve and rolled over, throwing the driver as it flipped.
The victim was alone in the vehicle, the trooper said.
