Marvin was the son of Benjamin Franklin and Sarah Elizabeth "Carothers' Clarkson.
He was never married and was a lineman for the telephone Co.
Marvin passed away on Highway 24 in an ambulance from a heart attack.

The following young men of Shelby County left Monday for Jefferson Barracks where they will be in training; Chester Stewart, Clarence Ridings, Silas E. Carter, Clifford Beckett, John W. Bonnell, Tony Killion, Wm. R. Strange and Marvin Clarkson of this city.

Mrs. Ethel Stuart (Stewart) received a letter Thursday from her brother Marvin Clarkson who is a patient in the Veterans hospital at Jefferson Barracks, he told her he underwent his fourth operation March 14, and was feeling very well, he said he expected to undergo another operation.

On headstone it shows his birthdate as Dec. 25, 1895. On his draft paper that he signed he put his birthday as Dec. 24, 1895. MO Death Certificate #13869 has his B.D. as Dec. 25 infomation from his sister Mary Ethel Clarkson Stewart.
