Beulah Icard Rector, 82, of Pineburr Ave. Valdese, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, at her home.
Mrs. Rector was born Aug. 7, 1930, in Burke County to the late Lester Icard and Annie Bell Icard Powe.
She was retired from Alba Waldensian.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Rector, Sr.; one son, Donald Rector, Jr.; and a sister, Cora Icard.
Survivors include her sons, Jimmy Rector and wife, Bea, of Morganton, Roger Rector and wife, Soncha, of Rutherford College, Thurman Rector and wife, Kim, of Mt. Ulla and Robert Rector and wife, Lisa, of Morganton; daughters, Cherry Ward and husband, Gary, of Morganton and Janis Huffman and husband, Ralph, of Hickory; brothers, LeeRoy Huffman, of Morganton, Paul Huffman, of Glen Alpine and Olin Huffman, of George Hildebrand; sisters, Dorothy Baker, of Valdese, Rachel Lail, of Valdese and Gladys Glazebrooks, of Baton; 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grand-children, six step-grandchildren, 13 step-great-grandchildren, and four step-great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Morganton First Church of God. The Rev. John McDivitt officiated.
Interment followed at Burke Memorial Park. The family received friends Saturday at the Morganton First Church of God. Pallbearers were Jimmy Rector, Donnie Coffey, Mike Rector, Mark Rector, Bryan Rector, and Jason Rector.
