James Zlatohlavek, age 65, of 1303 S. 25th St., Manitowoc, entered eternal rest Tuesday morning, Jan. 17, 2006, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Thomas Wojciechowski. Cremation will have taken place, with burial of the cremains to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Jim was born Aug. 6, 1940, in Manitowoc. He was the son of the late Ellsworth and Eleanor Ozga Zlatohlavek. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School, with the class of 1958. He was employed with the Manitowoc Board of Education for 32 years as a custodian, retiring in March 1998. On Sept. 3, 1966, he married Judith Braun at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Whitelaw. Jim was a member of St. Francis of Assisi, attending church at the Marshall Site. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and spending time with his two granddaughters. He is survived by his wife of 39 years: Judith; one son and daughter-in-law: Jeffrey Paul and Tammy Zlatohlavek, New Frankin; one daughter: Jeri Lynn Zlatohlavek of Manitowoc and her fiance, Brian Christensen, Green Bay; two granddaughters: Abigail and Sarah Zlatohlavek, New Frankin; one brother and sister-in-law: Allan and Sue Zlatohlavek, Manitowoc; one niece: Lori Ann Zlatohlavek, Manitowoc; along with other relatives and friends surviving. Friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 628 N. Water St., Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements. The family would like to thank the nurses at the dialysis center and Manitowoc Clinic.
