STRICKEN AS HE VIITS FRIEND, DIES SUNDAY
While visiting at the home of a friend on the south side Sunday morning, Joseph
Zipperer, 59, was suddenly stricken with an attack of heart failure and passed
away before the arrival of a physician. The body was later removed to the home,
423 North Seventh street.
The deceased who has been employed by Manitowoc county as a blacksmith at the
county shops at the fair grounds for the past seven years had not complained of
feeling ill. He was making a social call when he suffered a stroke and passed away
in a few minutes.
The deceased has always made his home in the county having been born at Branch 59
years ago. He was married 34 years ago to Miss Mary Brey who preceded him in death
four years ago. An aged mother, Mrs. Theresa Zipperer of Branch, one daughter,
Georgiana, a teacher in the local schools with whom the deceased made his home and
two brothers, John in the west and Wencil of Branch survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at ten o'clock from the Sacred Heart
church,
with interment at Evergreen cemetery. The deceased was a member of the Catholic
Knights and the Holy Name society.
