NORMAN H. ZINKEL

Norman H. Zinkel, 57, associated with vocational education for 22 years, died
Tuesday morning at home 1517 S. 10th St, Manitowoc. He had been ill the past
year.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mittnacht Funeral Home Manitowoc.
The Rev. Vernon Anderson will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Zinkel was born Dec 15. 1908, at Manitowoc, son of the late Charles Zinkel
and Emma Zinkel. He graduated in 1926 from Lincoln High School and the past 37
years had been sales and credit manager for The Spindler Company.
He had been employee representative on the Vocational and Adult Education board
of Manitowoc Technical Institute for 22 years and was board president for 16
years. Mr. Zinkel had been a member of Wisconsin Association of Vocational and
Adult Education and American Vocational Assn.
Active in community affairs, Mr. Zinkel had been a member of Manitowoc County
Ration Board during World War II, served 19 years as recording secretary of
Teamster Local 619 and was past secretary of Manitowoc Central Labor Council.
He had been an avid bowler and managed the Spindler team for more than 30 years.
He had been a member of the board of Easter Seal Society, Toastmasters Club,
Braille Club and Eagles Aerie 706.
He married Viola Furst at Manitowoc, Aug 10, 1932.
She survives along with two sons, (private), his mother, 3 brothers, Harvey of
Manitowoc, Roland of Kenosha, and Charles Jr. of Milwaukee, two sisters, Mrs.
Leslie Mangin and Mrs. Del Brault of Manitowoc and five grandchildren.
His father preceded him in death in March of this year. Also preceding him in
death were a brother, Charles, a sister, Mrs. Gloria Ceck and two grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
