Charles J. Zinkel, 81, of 1024 S. 20th St., Manitowoc, died early Tuesday morning
at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc, after a short illness. Funeral services will be
at 2 pm Thursday at Mittnacht Funeral Home, Manitowoc, with burial in Evergreen
Cemetery.
Mr. Zinkel was born Jan. 30, 1885 in the Town of Newton, son of the late Charles
and Margaret Degenhardt Zinkel. He attended school at Newton and married Emma
Ansorge May 9, 1905. The couple resided at Manitowoc and observed the 60th
Anniversary of the wedding in 1965. He had been employed 35 years as a millwright
by Rahr Malting Co., retiring in 1955.
Surviving are his wife, four sons, Norman and Harvey of Manitowoc and Roland and
Charles Jr., of Milwaukee; two daughters, Mrs. Leslie Mangin and Mrs. Dell Brault
of Manitowoc; a brother, ?? of Francis Creek; a sister, Mrs. Mary Junk of
Manitowoc; 23 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. A son, Clarence and a
daughter, Mrs. Gloria Zinkel Chech, two brothers and a sister preceded him in
death.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 pm Wednesday. Memorials may be made
to Memorial Hospital.
