Julius Zastrow, 83, of 1211 Green street, died Tuesday afternoon following a
lingering illness.
He was born in Germany in 1861 and came to this county in 1883 locating in Newton,
where he married Miss Mathida Henning 59 years ago. They located on a farm in
Newton. The Zastrows moved to this city in 1916. Mrs. Zastrow died in 1921. He
married Miss Anna Popp in 1927.
Survivors are his wife; two sons, Harry and Erwin of Newton; three daughters, Mrs.
William Jaeger of Centerville, Mrs. Albert Ellestad and Mrs. Eric Zastrow of this
city; four brothers, Herman in Germany, Henry of West Allis, Fred and Albert of
Milwaukee; four sisters, Mrs. Otto Gerth and Mrs. Bertha Barman of Milwaukee, Mrs.
Charles Gersonde and Mrs. Ida Junker of Wauwatosa; 20 grandchildren and 18 great-
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Wesley Methodist church, the
Rev. Carl Hagen officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
The body may be viewed at the Urbanek and Schlei funeral home after Thursday noon.
It will be moved to the church at 10 a.m. Friday to lie in state until the hour of
the services.
