Nancy Zarnott, age 75, of Berlin, passed away Monday evening, Jan. 31, 2005 at her home. She was born in Manitowoc, on Nov. 19, 1929, the daughter of John C. and Majie Hoffman Peterik. Nancy was a 1948 graduate of Lincoln High School in Manitowoc, and attended both La Crosse and Oshkosh State Teachers Colleges. She was united in marriage to Lawrence E. Zarnott at St. James Episcopal Church in Manitowoc on Aug. 29, 1953. During their 51 years of marriage, they enjoyed golf, bridge, traveling and spending time with their friends and family. Nancy found great joy in her garden and creative talents, which can be seen throughout her home. She will be remembered for giving great parties, especially Badger tailgate parties. Door County held a very special place in her heart, where she happily introduced her grandchildren "to the ocean." She will be forever remembered in the hearts of Larry, Bonnie and Mike Benes; Jody, Gary, Avery and Cooper Fossum; Lee, Margaret, Kathleen and Mary Claire Zarnott. She touched the lives of many. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 4 at 10:30 a.m. at Grace English Lutheran Church in Berlin. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc. Friends and relatives may call on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin and on Friday at the church one-hour prior to the service. Memorials may be given to the Nancy Zarnott Memorial Scholarship Fund.
