HERMAN F. WIENKE
Herman Wienke, 72, of 1233 South 20th Street, retired farmer, died Tuesday
afternoon at the Holy Family Hospital. He suffered a stroke a week ago. Funeral
services will be held Friday at 1:30 pm from the Wattawa, Urbanek and Schlei
Funeral Home and at two o'clock from the First German Evangelical Lutheran
Church, the Rev. L.H. Koeninger officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen
Cemetery.
Mr. Wienke was born in Germany in 1870 and when a boy accompanied his parents
to Grimms. In 1899 he married Miss Bertha Achenbach and they located on a farm
near Manitowoc Rapids. Five years ago he retired and moved into the city.
Survivors are the widow; three sons, Arthur of Northfield, Minn., Norman of
Chicago and Melvin at Camp San Luis Obispo, Calif.; daughter, Mrs. Olga Jasmer
of Chicago and four grandchildren. The body may be viewed from Thursday noon
until the hour of the services.
