BERTHA M. WIENKE (d. 1966)
Mrs. Herman Wienke, 88, formerly of Manitowoc Rapids, died Friday at Park Ridge,
Ill., where she had been residing with a daughter, Mrs. Norman Jasmer, for the
last several years. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Monday at Grace Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Theodore Sauer will officiate and burial
will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Wienke was born Sept. 14, 1877 in Town of Manitowoc Rapids, daughter of the
late Jacob and Elizabeth Krug Achenbach. She was married to Mr. Wienke 69 years
ago and he died in 1943. She was a member of the Ladies Aid.
Survivors are three sons, Arthur of Northfield, Minn., Norman of Park Ridge, Ill.,
and Melvin of Milwaukee; her daughter; three sisters, Mrs. Otto Cullman of Skokie,
Ill., Mrs. Benjamin Krisher of Chicago and Mrs. Edwin Meyers of San Diego, Calif.;
two brothers, Charles of Manitowoc and Oscar Allerton of Rochester, Minn.; six
grandchildren and a great grandchild. Two sisters, a brother and a son preceded
her in death.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 3 pm Sunday
until 12:30 am Monday and then at the church.
