NORMA WERNECKE

Norma V. Wernecke, age 98, of 1235 S. 24th St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2006, at St. John's United Church of Christ, Manitowoc. The Rev. Dr. Jim Klein will officiate. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Norma was born April 15, 1908, in Chase, daughter of the late Louis and Augusta Fischer Heinemann. On Sept. 30, 1929, Norma married Richard Wernecke in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death in 1976. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and a past member of the church choir. Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law: Charles and Dianne Wernecke, Manitowoc; Paul Wernecke, Milwaukee. Norma was preceded in death by her husband: Richard; two children: Nancy Rae Wernecke (infant) and James Peter Wernecke; one brother: Ervin Heinemann; six sisters: Edna Heinemann; Gladys Provost; Alice Mielke; Leona Zastrow; Della Wernecke; and Erna Wernecke. Relatives and friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2006, at St. John's United Church of Christ. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is assisting the Wernecke family.
