MARIE A. WELNICKE
Marie Welnicke, 71, of Manitowoc, died Sunday afternoon, October 14, 1990 after
a brief illness. Funeral services will be 10 am Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral
Home, Rev. Walter Waeckerle will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen
Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born January 24, 1919 in Reedsville, Wisconsin, daughter of the late
William and Christina Steinfast Birkholz. She married Joseph Welnicke on July 13,
1946 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on September 6, 1987.
Survivors include five daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Charles DuVall of
Las Vegas, Nevada, Karen and Jack Hurt of Las Vegas, Nevada, Joan and Rodney
Hynek of Fond du Lac, Donna and Richard Larson of Nokesville, Virginia, Cynthia
and Michael Klein of Manitowoc; three brother and two sisters-in-law, Vernon
Metcalf of Butler, Daniel and Millie Birkholz of Manitowoc, Howard and Dorothy
Birkholz of Collins; 11 grandchildren, Candace and Charles DuVall, Kimberly Rusch,
Jack Hurt, Rob, Laura and Heidi Hynek, Eric and Karin Larson, Jason and Marcia
Klein; two great grandchildren, Matthew Rusch and Nicholas Hynek; nieces, nephews
survive. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Christina Gubbins, Evelyn
Heinrichs and Dorothy Fleming.
