Just 11 days after the death of her sister, Mrs. William Rusch of the town of
Liberty, Mrs. Otto Weiss of Manitowoc, died at the Holy Family hospital. Death
came early today after a lingering illness. She was 58.
Nee Ida Haupt, Mrs. Weiss was born in the town of Newton, Manitowoc county,
June 21, 1887. Her marriage to Otto Weiss occurred on Nov. 10, 1910.
The husband, two daughters, Mrs. Ruben Schwantz, route 3, Manitowoc, and Mrs.
Peter Einberger of this city, and one son, Carl Weiss, also of Manitowoc,
survive. Other survivors are two brothers, Elmer and Raymond Haupt, and one
sister, Mrs. William Kollath, all of Manitowoc, and three grandchildren.
Mrs. Weiss was an active member in the Ladies Aid society of the First German E.
Lutheran church.
The body is at the Urbanek and Schlei funeral home and may be viewed from
1 o’clock Friday afternoon until 10 a.m. Saturday. At that hour the casket will
be removed to the Lutheran church, and at 2 p.m. the Rev. L. H. Koeninger will
conduct funeral rites. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
