ALVIN GEORGE VRANEY

Alvin G. Vraney, 81, formerly a Manitowoc resident, now of 3654 Hispania Place,
Sarasota, Florida, died Monday, March 2, 1989 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 3, at 9 am at Pfeffer Funeral Home and
9:30 am at Holy Innocents Catholic church, Manitowoc. Rev. Leo Schmitt will
preside at the Mass of Christian Burial and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
Mr. Vraney was born January 26, 1908 at Manitowoc, son of the late George and
Anna Havlinek Vraney. He married the former Geraldine Schobklasky on July 19,
1935 at Menominee, Michigan. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the Class
of 1926 and the University of Wisconsin-Madison with the Class of 1931. Mr. Vraney
was Director of Advertising and Public Relations for the Mirro Corp. until 1975.
The couple resided in Manitowoc until Mr. Vraney retired, when Alvin and his wife,
Geraldine, moved to Florida. He was a former member of the Elks Lodge No. 687 of
Manitowoc.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine of Sarasota; a son and daughter-in-law,
George and Lynelle Vraney of Gilford, New Hampshire; two daughters and sons-in-law,
Jeanine and Peter Allen of LaCrosse, Wisconsin and Marjorie and William Hallett of
New York, New York; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Florence Vraney of
Manitowoc and six grandchildren, Peggy, Tracy, Michael and Scott Allen and Amy and
Jennifer Vraney.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, 6 pm to 8 pm Sunday where a prayer service
will be at 7 pm by Deacon Don Gigure.
