Mrs. Charles Van Patten, 85, of 1202 Philippen street, died Saturday after a
short illness. Funeral services were at 3 p.m. today, at the Urbanek and Schlei
funeral home, the Rev. Elmer Flagstad officiating. Burial was in Evergreen
cemetery.
Mrs. Van Patten was born Emily Faulks in Waupaca in 1863. Sixty-five years ago
she was married to Leander Wilcox who died in 1903. In 1908 she was married to
Charles Van Patten who died in 1924. Since then she had lived with a son, M.C.
Wilcox, on Philippen street.
She is survived by him and another son, Walter of Appleton; four stepchildren;
three grandchildren; and a great grandchild.
